Research on Gender Equality / Transgender Rights

The purpose of this essay is to understand transgender identity and transgender rights. More and more people became aware that transgender rights are human rights, but there still exists some serious discrimination on various transgender issues. To get information, I will use some official organization websites about transgender rights, Internet web dictionaries, research papers and books. Firstly, a brief history of transgender and transgender population will be presented. Next, transgender rights and how those rights get infringed will be discussed. Transgender individuals experience negative attitudes, prejudice, fear, misunderstanding, bullying or violence in various places. Lastly, I will talk about some possible solutions for those discrimination and infringement. Transgender individuals should be allowed to change their gender identity with their choice. Their medical insurance conditions should be enhanced by law for their medical decision. To prevent discrimination and bias against them some educational programs should be created. The labor environment and related legal systems should be readjusted to guarantee transgender individuals proper and decent jobs. When it comes to criminal justice system towards transgender individuals, each country has to bring up necessary policies and systems to protect their gender identity and secure transgender rights. The gender issue is very sensitive to everyone. Therefore, it is important to preserve transgender individuals’ confidentiality.
